I'm a writer who needs to have my cute meet to kick off my stories. I can have all the bare bone essentials all ready to go but if I don't have a means to get these two kids together, I'm left standing on the end of the dock waiting for the boat to come pick me up.
Frustrating actually. Then light finally dawns this morning with my last dream. Yes, oh baby it's sooo good. I know where I'm going and all I had to do was walk along a beach holding hands with my lesbian lover. I'm laughing because I have no idea where that came from either. I'm hetero through and through but my husband certainly gave me strange looks while I told him everything over our morning coffee.
I must say, this is perfect. I can't wait to get going on this little interesting twist. I'll keep you posted as I go along. Just in case there are more intriguing tidbits that unfold. One never knows what will come to them in dreams but it really is up to us to explore those possibilities - purely from an artist's perspective anyway.
Now I'm off to make an interesting proposition. Wish me luck!
The Crimson Romance website has a poll asking readers, and writers for that matter, 'What's your favorite hero type?' Naturally vampires are on there but frankly, I've never understood their appeal.
For one thing, he'll never be able to help you in the yard. You tell ol' stiffy it's his turn to mow the grass and one of your neighbors is bound to come over in the middle of the night to stake him to the ground for making that kind of racket when everyone else has to work in the morning. And forget counting on him to man the grill at the next barbecue because he'll be out cold while you're working on your tan or freckling in the sun. Want to enjoy a companionable cup of coffee with your lover? Get used to him asking you to open a vein over his cup first or he won't be able to tolerate it.
All joking aside, I've never been able to suspend reality long enough to accept a sexy, virile vampire as a romantic lead. This guy is going to be cold. Think about it. You'll never feel warm under the sheets with him and he's going to leech away your body temperature like a block of ice. His chilly feet are the least of your worries. Speaking of which, the mechanics aren't going to work either. Your stiffy isn't going to get a stiffy without a functioning circulatory system to help him out.
And last but not least, when you see lust in his eyes, you'll always be wondering which kind is it, won't you? I know I would. I'd get mighty jumpy with this guy shadowing me around with that hungry look. I think I'd be snapping, "What!? Why are you looking at me like that? No more. I can't. I'm already a quart low every month. Find another meal ticket for that."
Sheesh. What could you possibly do with a guy like that?
Hello everyone, welcome to Coming Attractions. Betty Bliss here and have I got a treat for you! Today in our studio, I'm talking live with the leads in the upcoming romance, Forest Fires from Crimson Romance. Drake Carver, Charley Jensen, I can't tell you how excited I am that you dropped by.
Drake: "We're big fans of yours, Betty."
Betty: "Aren't you sweet." Turns to Charley. "I have to say, I've never met
anyone with hair as long as yours. It's really beautiful but it must be a
lot of work."
Charley self-consciously runs her hand down the back of her hair. "Not really.
I just tie it in a big knot when I need it out of the way."
Drake laughs at the bewildered look on Betty's face. "Show her, Charley."
He turns back to Betty. "This is cool. I love it when she does this."
Charley stands and gathers her knee-length hair together, twisting it into a skein. With well-practiced dexterity, she loops it into a large knot, pulling the long tail through to hang loose against her bottom. She's lost a good eight inches of length but it looks lovely. "This way I don't have to worry about it getting in my way while I'm working," she explains.
Betty: "Fascinating." As Charley returns to her chair, Betty goes on. "By work,
I suppose we should explain that you're a handy woman, is that right?"
Charley: "I'm good with tools."
Drake laughs. "She could build you a car."
Charley and Bonnie both smile at him.
Betty: "And I see here Drake, that you're an ornithologist? Can you explain
what that is for our audience?"
Drake shifts in his chair. "Sure. I'm a biologist, specializing in birds."
Betty: "Which is how you actually met."
The couple smile at each other and nod.
Betty: "Was it love at first sight?"
Drake shakes his head and they both laugh.
Drake: "Hardly. Charley was irritating and bossy."
Charley snorts: "Like you were in a position to turn down my help. Drake was
like a stray puppy."
Drake: "Let's just say that my misfortune became my good fortune in the long
Betty breaks in: "And did I read this right? You actually saved Charley's life?"
Charley: "He did. It was really exciting but we can't go into those details. I'm
sorry. You'll just have to wait for the release of Forest Fires."
Betty: "I'm looking forward to it. Thank you both for sharing a little of your
story with us today and we'll be watching for the release of Forest Fires
in the coming months. I'd love it if you could stop back when it comes
out. Is that possible?"
Drake: "If we're not out of the country, we'll certainly try. Charley?"
Charley: "I'd like that. Nice meeting you, Betty."
Betty: "Nice meeting you both, Drake, Charley, a pleasure. This is Betty
Bliss. Please join me again for another installment of Coming
Attractions. Good night.
